Introduction:

Jessica has settled back in the New York area and on Broadway for the past few years.  She had been a true gypsy for several years, roaming the country in various road companies—paying her dues.  It was fun to see the country and meet people in virtually every major city, but it's nice to stay in one place too.  At one point she decided to give Los Angeles a try, as she thought it would be great to be back "home" in Southern California.  She received great acclaim for a theatre role she created there, Mary, in Play It Cool, but typical of LA theatre, very little money.  During her year there, Hollywood never did come clamoring for her services.  So, when The Producers beckoned again, it was off to Las Vegas for a year.  Las Vegas was great too, but she knew her heart was in New York.  Fortunately she got cast in Mary Poppins, and now in Follies, so she's settled in to stay.

Awards / Award Nominations / Honors:

In 2011, Jessica was honored for Alumni Achievement by her theatre alma mater, San Diego Junior Theatre, in its First Annual Honors Gala.  She was both humbled and thrilled to be so recognized by the organization that means so much to her.

In 2007, LA Weekly nominated Jessica for their annual L.A. Weekly Theater Awards for her "Musical Performance" and the entire cast for "Musical Ensemble" for her performance as Mary in the world premiere of Play It Cool.

In 2006, the LA Stage Alliance nominated Jessica for an Ovation Award for "Lead Actress in a Musical" for her performance as Mary in the world premiere of Play It Cool. Jessica was one of five nominees out of over 400 eligible musical productions. Her fellow nominees included Sutton Foster (who won for The Drowsy Chaperone), Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), Judy Kaye (Zorba), and Valarie Pettiford (The Wild Party)

2006:  Jessica played Mary in the world premiere of Play It Cool at the Celebration Theatre in Los Angeles, a production that was held over due to sell-out business. The play takes place in Mary's Hideaway, an underground gay bar under constant police scrutiny in the early 1950s. Men can't dance together, patrons are routinely roughed up by officers as they leave the club, and the masculine dressing Mary must wear at least three pieces of female accessories at all times. Mary is the proprietor-host and her amour Lena is the key entertainer.
